Summer is fast approaching and the first lot of locally produced vegetables have started appearing on the shelves. So this is the ideal time to buy fresh produce, even from the supermarkets, where asparagus and fiddleheads are on offer this week.

I urge you to make the most of these wonderful locally grown vegetables, not only out of patriotism, but also because of their taste, nutritional value and the environment.

To find out more about the next lot of early fruits and vegetables in your area, you can consult our availability table, which is updated weekly.
