I will not be chatting with Kim Fraser on CJAD 800 this week, nor anytime soon. Indeed, Kim’s show has been moved to the week-ends, so after two and a half years of weekly conversations each Thursday, I am now putting my “radio career” on hold for a while.
It has been great fun to share the week’s best grocery deals and menu ideas with Kim and her devoted audience. I am grateful to Kim and CJAD 800 for the opportunity, but I am also happy to move on to new experiences.
I remind the regular listeners that the weekly supermarket specials can still be tracked on our website.
To all I say: ARRIVEDERCI!

This post is dedicated to my friend and great supporter Kim Fraser, radio host at CJAD800am. She is the one who recognized my talent at making tasty soups and crowned me “Queen of Soups”.
Making soup is very easy. The simplest soup can be made by throwing in all the left over vegetables from your fridge into a large pot of boiling water and just leaving them in till they are done! In case you want to be slightly more refined, then first prepare a good broth, select fresh, good quality ingredients, decide upon the order in which you want to cook them, select the required consistency, that is, smooth and creamy, thicker or more watery, with or without chunks, etc.

I am just coming back from the CJAD radio station where I drop by on Kim Fraser’s show every Thursday with the week’s grocery specials. Kim’s next guest was Senator Romeo Dallaire, who was invited to discuss his latest book “They Fight Like Soldiers, They Die Like Children”. There was no time to talk to him about SOS Cuisine
but I was immensely happy just to shake hands with him.
If you are in Montreal and want to hear General Dallaire talking about the tragedy of children dragged into battle, he is holding a free public lecture today at Concordia University, Hall Building, Room 110 at 6pm.
