1/2 green cabbage, minced 500 g
3/4 carrots, grated 80 g
1 stalk celery, finely minced 70 g
2 green onions/scallions, minced
1 tbsp celery seeds 9 g
1/2 cup mayonnaise 120 g
3 tbsp apple cider vinegar 45 mL
3 drops Tabasco sauce 0.63 mL
1/2 tsp salt 2 g
1/2 tsp ground pepper 2 g

Before you start

A mandolin will make slicing the cabbage easier.


  1. Prepare the vegetables: Thinly slice the cabbage, celery and green onions. Peel and grate the carrots. Put all the vegetables in a bowl with the celery seeds then toss well.
  2. In another bowl, mix the dressing ingredients with a whisk then pour over the salad.
  3. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
