If you are overweight, even moderate weight loss can improve your health. Adopt a regular schedule for eating meals and, if necessary, take snacks. Drink enough, 1 to 2 liters of liquid distributed throughout the whole day. It is important to be physically active, because physical activity lowers blood sugar, improves the effectiveness of insulin produced by the body and helps to reduce any excess weight. Avoid sugary drinks (dessert wines, "cocktails" and liqueurs), because they contain lots of sugar and can cause a rapid rise in blood sugar.
