The traditional Italian "bruschetta" [pr. broo-SKEH-tah] is made with only 3 ingredients: bread, garlic and olive oil. Any kind of garnish can then be added on top of the bread.

Ingredients

1 slice gluten-free bread 45 g
1 tsp Garlic-Infused Oil 5 mL
1 tbsp canned tomatoes (diced) 16 g
1 tsp Parsley Base 5 mL
1 leaf fresh basil, chopped 0.4 g
ground pepper to taste [optional]

Method

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high. Oil the rack.
  2. Brush the bread slices on both sides with the garlic-infused oil then grill about 1 to 2 min on each side.
  3. Add the tomatoes and the Parsley Base on the grilled bread. Sprinkle with basil. Season with pepper and serve.
  4. As an alternative: Grill the bread in a toaster, then drizzle with garlic-infused oil. Garnish and serve.
