The traditional "bruschetta" [pr. broo-SKEH-tah] is made by rubbing slices of toasted bread with garlic, then drizzling the bread with olive oil and serving warm. All kinds of additional seasonings or garnish may be added on top.

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high. Oil the rack.
  2. Brush the bread slices on both sides with oil then grill about 1 to 2 min on each side.
  3. Rub the grilled bread with garlic, then serve.
  4. As an alternative: Grill the bread in a toaster, then rub it with the garlic and drizzle with oil. Serve.
