400 g cherries, firm-ripe 40
1 tbsp sugar 12 g
2 tbsp water, approximately 30 mL
2 scoops vanilla ice cream [optional] 125 mL

Before you start

It is not necessary to remove the pits.


  1. Briefly wash the cherries, without letting them soak. Combine them with the sugar in a saucepan, then toss to coat. Add a little water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, with occasional stirring, until the liquid thickens slightly, about 10 min.
  2. Serve at room temperature. Garnish with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
