Ingredients

400 g cherries, firm-ripe 40
1 tbsp sugar 12 g
2 tbsp water, approximately 30 mL

Before you start

It is not necessary to remove the pits.

Method

  1. Briefly wash the cherries, without letting them soak. Combine them with the sugar in a saucepan, then toss to coat. Add a little water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, with occasional stirring, until the liquid thickens slightly, about 10 min.
  2. Serve at room temperature.

yummy treat...simple and might be nice with a bit of quinoa granola sprinkled over top which I will try next time. My 4 "at a time " cherry pitter made the job less arduous - but you don't have to pit them
