1.3 kg watermelon, cubed
1/3 cup sugar 65 g
1 tbsp agar agar (powder) 6 g
1/4 tsp salt 1 g

Before you start

A blender or food processor will be very useful to juice the watermelon.


  1. Cut the water melon into bite-size pieces.
  2. In a blender, transfer the watermelon and run until a runny puree forms. Filter the mixture through a fine strained to extract only the juice.
  3. Put sugar, watermelon juice, agar-agar, and salt in a pot. Bring to a boil on medium-high heat, whisking from time to time.
  4. Pour the liquid mixture into a pan or bowl and let sit in the fridge for 2 h, or until gelled.
  5. Transfer the mixture to snacks pouches and keep in the fridge until ready to use.


You can find snack pouches in stores that sell sport accessories and/or accessories for babies.
