Montreal’s Italian Week

August 10, 2012 ,

The 19th edition of Montreal’s Italian Week is taking place from August 10th to 19th, celebrating the passions of the Italian community. The more observant of you will notice it is actually more than a week, but given the range of activities it boasts – art exhibits, food, music, cars, sport tournaments, fashion, opera, and much more – it’s pretty evident that a week would not have been enough …

According to the organizers, it is the largest Italian festival in Canada, and maybe in North America as well. Last year about 1/2 million people participated to the various activities. This year the featured region is beautiful Friuli Venezia Giulia, in the North-East: not to be missed!

And of course there will be food, including the Best Tiramisu Contest. Bakeries of Montreal will compete to determine who’s the master of this traditional Italian dessert. It will be a mouth watering experience!
