Succeeding with your Low-Histamine Diet: Alessandro’s Experience

10 November, 2021 , ,

When diagnosed with a histamine intolerance, you’ll need to follow a low-histamine diet, or temporarily eliminate the main food sources of histamine from your diet. This is not easy because histamine is present in the majority of foods and, in addition, food triggers vary greatly from one person to another. Therefore, there is no consensus available on the list of foods to exclude, but it is recommended not to eliminate too many foods to avoid having an overly restrictive diet which can cause other long-term problems such as nutritional deficiencies.

When symptoms improve while following the diet, each type of food is then reintroduced one at a time to precisely identify those that are causing symptoms.

It is a long and complicated process. To put every chance of success in your corner, it is best to follow this diet with the help of a dietitian specialized in gastrointestinal health, who knows the low-histamine diet protocol.

Here is the testimony of Alessandro, who used our VIP Dietitian Service following a histamine intolerance diagnosis:

“At the request of my doctor, I had been looking for months for a professional nutritional expert to support me on a daily basis. Suffering from an allergy and severe intolerance to Histamine, my food choices were poor, limited, and repetitive. In addition to dealing with several nutritional deficiencies.

Thanks to the SOSCuisine team and their dietitian consultation service, not only do I now benefit from a personalized follow-up on a monthly basis, I have also gained food combinations allowing me to overcome the deficiencies I had, while at the same time rediscovering the pleasure of eating and eating well. All this with expert advice, and in a gradual and safe way. Despite the complex constraints imposed by my state of health: their great expertise with Histamine has managed to make all the difference for me and my health.

I finally found the nutritional expert I was looking for, to help compensate for my challenging health condition.”
