There’s only 2 weeks left, until January 19, to enjoy the wonderful exhibition “Splendore a Venezia” at the Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal, a cultural and social tour over three centuries of art – painting and music – that have shaped the city of the Doges.
Featuring some 120 paintings, prints, drawings, musical instruments and rare manuscripts, from 61 museums and private collections, this exhibition shows the important interrelationships that exist between the visual arts and music in the Venetian Republic, from the early sixteenth century to the fall of the Serenissima at the close of the eighteenth century.
Music is an integral part of this installation, with piped music in every room, while visitors equipped with head-sets listen to music directly related to the paintings they are seeing.
An exhibition not to be missed and for which we can say: BRAVO!
