#5 – ‘Caking’ Everything

Artisanal cakes are nothing new, but the degree to which people go to make their cake look like anything BUT cake is really amazing. It’s no longer enough to bake a cake. These days your home bakery should include fondant rollers, stand mixers for perfect buttercream, and any number of food colouring (gel paste please, liquid makes icing and chocolate seize), powders, and sprinkles to adorn your desserts. Oh and an artistic eye for design helps too.
